Our Facility and Equipment

IFM is currently housed in a clean, well organized 8,000 square foot facility in Warren,
Michigan, centrally located near I-696, I-75 and I-94 freeways. This allows us to
conveniently service the entire Detroit Metro Area without freight concerns. Local shipping hubs for all major common carriers allow us to easily service any location in the continental United States.

We consider our facility to be "modular," meaning that equipment and stations can be
easily reorganized in order to facilitate large projects or production jobs. To view
photos of our facility, please visit our shop photos page.

Below you will find a partial list of our equipment. As always, we are happy to install
new equipment to service a large job or mid to long run production job.

Welders

  • Multiple Miller Syncrowave 250 DX, 300A TIG welders with pulse capability (new 2002)
  • Multiple Miller CP 302, 390A MIG welders (new 2002)
  • Multiple Miller Syncrowave 180 SD 180A TIG welders
  • Miller Swing Arc 74DX2 boom dual wire feeder w/Deltaweld 451, 450A power supply (boom new 2002). According to Miller we are the only facility in Michigan to own one of these units, which allows us to perform up to a 450A weld with either .035" or .045" wire anywhere in a 30' radius from the base. This immensely simplifies welding on large and architectural pieces, or even extremely heavy pieces still on the truck they arrived on!

Work Areas & Surfaces

  • Primary Welding Stations include tables built from retired 7' x 4' die plates, allowing us perfectly flat work surfaces with unlimited fixturing options. Each station has a Miller Syncrowave 250 DX as well as a Miller CP 302, allowing complete welding capability at the flip of a switch.
  • 17' x 8' Build Table This 18,000 lb. table is used for architectural fabrication, as well as layout and fabrication of anything too large or cumbersome for our primary welding stations. Serviced primarily by the Swing Arc, but easily serviced by TIG welders.
  • Miscellaneous Many heavy steel tables, cast iron tables and retired die plates ideally suited to any type of welding and fabrication application.

Cutting

  • Wilton VTF-8 Vertical Tilt Frame Band Saw (Digitally Mitered, new 2002) This semi-automatic saw is designed to cut from straight (90 deg.) to 30 deg. and is ideally suited to production or job related cutting; either single piece or bundled. We keep blades in stock for all common materials and thicknesses, and the saw is calibrated daily. Digital mitering is to a tolerance of 0.05 degrees. view saw capacity or view photo
  • Niagara 10 foot x 10 gauge shear. view photo
  • Miller Spectrum 1250 DC Plasma Cutter (new 2002) Plasma cutting capacity up to 1.25" steel and 1.00' aluminum. Plasma cutting is performed with dry nitrogen as opposed to shop air for the cleanest possible cut.
  • Do-All Vertical Band Saw A smaller band saw with a 0.500" blade, suitable for precise cutting by hand.
  • Libert High Speed power nibbler.
  • Oxy-Acetylene Torches
  • Miscellaneous All the pneumatic cutting tools you would expect to find in a fully equipped fabrication shop.
