I.F. Metalworks Vice President and Operations Director Appears On Two Episodes of "Motor City Motors."
(Roseville, MI) – Jeff Maxwell, Vice President, has appeared as a guest builder and metal fabrication specialist on two episodes of The Discovery Channel's new build show "Motor City Motors." The show, filmed in Detroit, wrapped production of the first season on December 11th. The series premier is scheduled for December 28th, 2009 on the Discovery Channel.
The concept for the show is a reinvention of Discovery's smash hit "Monster Garage," and is centered around showcasing the Detroit Brothers’ impressive skills as fabricators, engineers and visionary artists. In each episode the Detroit Brothers assemble a team of similarly talented garage types: gearheads, mechanics, welders, customizers etc. to tackle that episode’s project. It could be anything from turning a car into a washing machine, building the ultimate “pirate catcher” for the Navy Seals or transforming an SUV into a pot hole filler.
Jeff was featured on two of the season's most difficult builds, including being called back for the extremely challenging project featured on the season's "All
Star Show." Due to press embargos the specific details and photos of these impressive projects cannot yet be provided to the media, but it is fair to say that "Motor City Motors" has set a new standard and raised the bar for the entire "Build Show" genre. The project built by the All Star Team is, by far, the most complex and difficult build ever attempted for television.
Project details, along with photos and video, will become available at www.ifmetalworks.com concurrently with the airing of each episode featuring our Vice President. Jeff's first episode, the build of the "Fest-Evil," is slated to air as episode four of the season in mid January.
Regarding his experiences on the show, Jeff says "It was a fantastic experience all around. Everyone from the hosts to the crew were consummate professionals and a real pleasure to work with. It was an honor to be selected from a ton of applicants as the fabrication specialist for the Fest-Evil build, and even more of an honor to be called back as an All Star. It's great to see TV and Film production making a difference in Metro Detroit's economy and showcasing the kind of wild talent that we have here. When people have a chance to see the monstrosities we built, especially for the All Star Show, they're truly going to be floored."
"Motor City Motors" is produced for The Discovery Channel by Original Productions, the industry's leading producer of "actual" reality television shows including the highly rated "Deadliest Catch" and "Ice Road Truckers."
